- me: do you ever reckon that sometimes sam has coughing fits in the middle of the night because of the trials and it sounds really bad and it's so loud that dean wakes up and knows it's sam and he's so terrified for his brother and he just remembers that when they were little, when sammy was sick, dean used to read to him so dean gets up and grabs a book from the shelf, any book, and heads towards sam's room but stops at the door because he realises that he's being stupid and that he can't make sam feel better with just a book anymore and like he just sits down outside his brothers door, waiting for sam to stop coughing because dean can't sleep knowing that sam is in pain
